RESORT HIGHLIGHTS:

Bosque del Cabo Nature Lodge encompasses more than 700 acres of the Costa Rican rainforest and within that land there are various zones and landscapes ranging from primary rainforest, creeks, important watershed areas, beachfront and open garden areas. Most of our land is comprised of rainforest; we estimate that 90%-95% of the Bosque land reserve is established or regenerating forest. Bosque also has 3+ kilometers of deserted and rugged Pacific beachfront which is peppered with tidal pools, small caves and arch rocks. This beachfront provides the perfect area for a private beach experience in nature that is one of the most memorable activities that our guests enjoy. Many creeks originate and cross through the property.

Bosque del Cabo is primarily a nature lodge, and we have an amazing variety of wildlife living on, and moving through, our land reserve. Bosque is one of the best places in Costa Rica, and even all of Central America, for seeing forests and wildlife. Bosque’s large rainforest compound beautifully showcases the rich biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula, which is considered to be one of the most important, thriving and vital biological regions of Central America. There are large populations of endangered animals such as the Scarlet Macaw and the Squirrel Monkey, as well as surprisingly diverse categories of endemic plants and animals, such as the Black-cheeked Ant Tanager, the Yellow-billed Cotinga and the Golfo Dulce Poison Dart Frog. Of course groups of Howler Monkeys, White-faced Monkeys, toucans, parrots, coatis, Agoutis, Collared Peccaries, Tyras and even tapirs are relatively easily spotted on the grounds of Bosque. The Osa is also home to 7 species wild cats and several of these species, such as the Puma, Jaguarundi and Ocelot, are seen from time-to-time by our guests. As other areas of the world, and even Costa Rica, are being deforested and developed, the Osa remains a stronghold of pristine forest settings surrounded by thriving marine habitats and rugged coastline. We at Bosque are trying to create an accessible and comfortable setting in which our guests can really take advantage of seeing the amazing flora and fauna of this very special part of the world.

“Villa del Palmar Cancun offers a host of activities for all the family, including themed nights, dancing lessons, kayaking and snorkeling tours, yoga and stretching classes, culinary events, wine and tequila tasting and more.”

SUGGESTIONS:

I highly recommend a day trip to the Mayan Ruins at Tulum, which are 80 miles from Cancun. The ruins overlook the Carribbean coast. Bus routes available, but I would recommend renting a car. I can include a car in the total cost and package.

Wikipedia on Tulum

I also recommend a day trip on the ferry (ferry stop is right next to the resort) to Isla Mujeres, which has stunning beaches and snorkeling. The famous Underwater Museum is located here.

Everything I’ve listed here can be adjusted to your needs and wants, such as including a rental car, adjusting the amount of days & nights, 2 rooms vs. a suite, garden view instead of ocean view, etc.

There are two exhilarating and eco-friendly ways to see this natural wonder. Both excursions are led by experienced guides, and provide pickups from Punta Cana hotels which bring you to the southern Cap Cana. These tours are appropriate for families, especially ones who are active and like to explore.
